What is Reformer Pilates?
Reformer Pilates is a low-impact, full-body workout performed on a specialised machine called a reformer. Using springs, straps, and a moving carriage, the reformer adds resistance and support to traditional Pilates movements, helping you build strength, stability, flexibility, and control.
What are the benefits of Reformer Pilates?
Reformer Pilates helps strengthen your core and stabilising muscles while improving posture, balance, and overall body alignment. The controlled resistance of the reformer also helps increase flexibility and mobility while building long, lean muscle strength with minimal impact on the joints. It is an effective workout that complements other training such as strength training, running, or group fitness classes.
Is Reformer Pilates suitable for beginners?
Yes, Reformer Pilates is suitable for all fitness levels, including beginners. Our instructors provide guidance and modifications throughout the class so you can move at a pace that feels comfortable while still being challenged.
What should I wear to class?
We recommend wearing comfortable workout attire that allows you to move freely during the class. Grip socks are required as they provide better stability and hygiene when using the reformer machine.
How is Reformer Pilates different from Mat Pilates?
While Mat Pilates relies primarily on bodyweight exercises performed on the floor, Reformer Pilates uses a spring-based machine that provides adjustable resistance and support. This allows for a wider variety of exercises, more controlled resistance, and deeper engagement of key muscle groups.
Will Reformer Pilates help with other workouts?
Yes. Reformer Pilates can improve core strength, stability, and mobility, which can enhance performance in other workouts. Many members find that it complements strength training, running, cycling, and other group fitness classes at Fitness First.
Who can purchase Reformer Pilates packages?
Reformer Pilates packages are available to members with an Unlimited Passport or Unlimited Bugis Home Club membership.
Do Reformer Pilates packages include gym access?
No. Reformer Pilates packages do not include gym entry. A valid membership is required to access the club and attend classes at Fitness First.
Do I need to check in at the club?
Yes. Please check in at the club reception for every visit before attending your class.
How do Reformer Pilates packages work?
Reformer Pilates classes are booked using credits from a prepaid package. Each class requires 1 credit, which will be deducted when you attend the class.
When does my package start and how long is it valid?
Your package starts immediately upon purchase. Credits must be used within the package validity period. Any unused credits after expiry will be forfeited.
Can I get a refund for unused credits?
Reformer Pilates packages are non-refundable and non-transferable. Unused credits cannot be refunded or transferred.
Will my package validity be extended if my membership is suspended?
No. As this is a prepaid package, membership suspensions or money-back guarantees do not extend the validity period.
Can I use my Reformer Pilates credits overseas?
